How do I log a plate?
Use the Collection Board to tap a state manually, or use Voice Capture by saying a phrase such as "I Spy Iowa."
Does voice capture record me?
Voice Capture uses microphone and speech recognition permissions to detect spoken U.S. state names. SpyPlates does not store or upload audio recordings. Voice processing is handled entirely on-device by Apple's speech recognition framework.
Can I turn sound effects off?
Yes. Open Control / Settings and turn Sound Effects off.
Does SpyPlates require an account?
No. SpyPlates does not require an account or login of any kind.
Where is my mission progress stored?
Mission progress is stored locally on your device. Nothing is uploaded to a server.
Is SpyPlates affiliated with the DMV or any state agency?
No. SpyPlates is not affiliated with any DMV, state agency, or license plate authority.
How do I reset a mission?
Open Control / Settings and use the reset options. Destructive actions require confirmation before proceeding.
How do I delete all my data?
Open Control / Settings and tap Clear All Data. This permanently removes all missions, history, achievements, and settings from your device. Uninstalling the app also removes all associated data.
What is Classroom Mode?
Classroom Mode adds an educational state fact from Atlas after each confirmed state. It can be toggled on or off in Control / Settings.
